Interconnect SBC

GENBAND's family of next generation cloud enabled SBC's provide robust security, simplified interoperability, advanced session management, and carrier grade reliability at interconnect network borders of communication service providers. With industry leading protocol normalization, transcoding, and session routing capabilities, GENBAND's SBC enables seamless IP interconnects to peer with other service providers, to interconnect intra-carrier networks, to offer international long distance services, and to provide scalable IP eXchange (IPX) services. to interconnect disparate fixed, mobile, cable, and OTT networks to securely exchange VoIP, HD Voice, VoLTE, Video, and Rich Communication Services (RCS) traffic.

GENBAND's software-centric SBC solutions provide the flexibility to be deployed as integrated or distributed SBC's on powerful COTS appliances; as cloud-native virtual network functions (VNF) in the NFV cloud; or as a hybrid combination of distributed appliances/VNF's, a unique GENBAND capability that protects current investments during the migration to NFV environments.  The decoupling of the SBC ACS (Advanced Signaling Software) and AMS (Advanced Media Software) components brings significant benefits including deployment flexibility, independent scalability of signaling and media resources, sharing and pooling of media assets, improved geo-resiliency and optimized media routing.

VoLTE IMS Interconnect and Roaming

In IMS deployments GENBAND's SBC functions as Interconnect Border Control Function (IBCF), Transition Gateway (TrGW), and Transit and Roaming Function (TRF) to provide border security, session management, interworking, adaptation and policy control for VoLTE interconnect and roaming, as well as "any-to-any" connectivity at IMS network edges. GENBAND's support of IMS signaling allows operators to seamlessly add scale for new IP-based video and RCS.

SBC VNF Solution:

  • SBC VNF – cloud native elastically scalable signaling and media VNF solution

SBC Appliance Based Solution:

  • Q10 – a compact 1RU (1 rack unit) COTS platform for up to 9,600 voice sessions
